Food & Wine Specialist - Masters Degree in Gastronomy, Ambassador for Australia, TV Presenter & former Miss AustraliaOlivia made her debut on Getaway as a guest presenter in 2010, adding to her already long list of impressive high profile media and culinary roles for the year – Cosmo’s 2010 Little Black Book profiled writer along side of Hollywood actress Teresa Palmer, Le Cordon Bleu judge, the 2010 Ambassador for Camp Quality- Chandon Supper Club, as well as being the Project Manager to set up South Australia’s first State wine festival.
The 2011 Cellar Door Wine Festival – Adelaide took place 25-27 February at the Adelaide Convention Centre and was a terrific success, attracting more than 5000 visitors as well as substantial media coverage nationally and overseas. The Premier officially opened the landmark event, showcasing 100+ wineries from across South Australia including the internationally renowned like Penfolds, Wolf Blass, d’Arenberg and Henshcke to local award winning legends.
Specialising in food and wine for 10+ years, Olivia holds a Masters Degree in Gastronomy as well as a Diploma in Le Cordon Bleu cooking and Linguistics amongst her bevy of international qualifications. Olivia’s expertise spans across media (TV, web, print and radio), PR, marketing and event management. In her free time she enjoys cooking for friends and reviewing new restaurants.
Olivia’s life-long passion for food, wine and culture has taken her on a global journey of discovery. Overseas, her high profile roles include the Sauchin Ambassador for Australian Food, Wine and Tourism in China, Ambassador for Australian Tertiary Education in Hong Kong and guest presenter on Bon Voyage in Asia, a popular travel TV series televised in 25 countries.
Since 2006, Olivia has hosted numerous TV series including Channel 7’s food, wine and travel TV series Sumptuous (2006), Rosemount Australian Fashion Week daily web TV show for ninemsn (2007), Channel 7’s food and wine presenter for Discover (2008), News Limited’s top rating web TV series The O List for Adelaide Now – getting the inside scoop with her fresh and upfront interviewing style at all the top festivals, VIP events and parties (2008/09), and Channel 9’s Australian Poker Hero at Crown Casino in Melbourne (2009).
Olivia has interviewed huge names like Dita Von Teese, Fergie, The Veronicas, UK’s Trinny and Susannah, supermodels including Tara Moss and Miranda Kerr, Australia’s top fashion designers, international food and wine legends, to the ‘dirtiest girl in porn’ Bella Donna.
In print media, Olivia worked with News Limited for two years (2008/09) as the Social Editor for the Sunday Mail, covering around 15 events in her popular two double-page spread for The O List which boasted a readership of 700,000+ people each week. She also featured on-line as a regular guest blogger for Adelaide Now, always drawing an impressive following for her thought provoking and quirky blogs.
Olivia is in demand as an MC and has also been ‘the face’ and presenter of numerous events and campaigns including the Adelaide Cup Racing Carnival (2004), SA Lotteries Saturday Lotto (2008), Sunday Mail Citi-Bay (2008) and Ambassador for the RSPCA Million Paws Walk (2009). She also modelled professionally in Sydney (2005-08), appearing in numerous TV commercials here in Australia and overseas for the likes of Dilmah Tea, Samsung, Antz Pantz and, in the Outback, filming for the SA Tourism Commission’s ‘Adventure’ campaign in the Flinders Ranges with four-wheel driving across extreme rugged terrain, mountain biking, horse riding and sampling bush tucker.
As a result of Olivia’s vibrant personality, she has won many accolades including the national title for Miss Australia, the international title for Miss World People’s Choice in front of a television audience of 2.8 billion viewers, Hottest on TV in Australia on-line vote, international ambassadorial roles within food, wine, tourism, education and charity, and, in sport, State and National Champion titles for horse riding.
